Here it is Labor Day Weekend, so I wanted to be sure and put together a fun party mix of good time drinking music. Man oh man, where did the summer go? Better have some fun now before the winter winds begin to blow cold…

We start out with a great CD I just got in the post from Miles Partridge with the track: tequila. It rocks. Be sure to check out his web site. The Miles Partridge CD is great from start to finish. It’s amazing to live in a time when people can self produce music of this caliber. Gotta love real indie music. Somebody sign this guy already… c’mon.

Next up is a blast from the past I just know will amuse you. Punk rock from 1982 with the band, T2. They do a great cover of the song, Banned From The Pubs. After that Rain Station slips in with a 4-track recording called Bull Whiskey that totally rocks in a very sloppy drunken sort of way. Party hearty you guys!

I saw my first UFO hovering over the White Mountains of New Hampshire in the early 90’s. I was working at a summer camp teaching arts and crafts. I was returning after a day off late one night, and way off in the distance I noticed a strange light in the sky. It was triangular, and each point blinked a different color one at a time. Over and over it blinked, yet hovered in place just over Mount Washington.

I sat in the grass and watched for a while, and then it moved to a different place, and continued hovering and blinking. I decided to wake up a buddy of mine to get a second opinion. He was like, “do you know what time it is…” and I go, yeah, but there’s a UFO outside, and I thought you’d like to see it. The two of us climbed out onto the main lodge roof, and sat for several hours watching the blinking lights in the sky. He was glad I woke him. He said he had always wanted to see a UFO, and that if they landed, he would gladly get in and go with them. I agreed.

Over the summer we would see them from time to time. Sometimes there would be many all at once. We even informed the local police, and they told us to phone them the next time we see these mysterious lights in the sky. Well, we did, and they came out, sat in the field with us for about two hours, and we all watched the UFOs dance and hover over these great mountains. No one knew anything about them. The cops made a few phone calls. No, they were not weather balloons, or anything else identifiable. They later told us they received calls about them for the rest of the summer.

The White Mountains are famous for UFO sightings, and we have all heard of the married couple that were abducted and had strange medical tests done on their bodies, well, they were driving through the White Mountains when this happened to them, so the area is just crawling with little green men and space aliens.

I also believe that most UFO sightings are experimental military craft that is top secret, so the UFOs we saw that summer could have just been that. I also believe that the technology is from space craft that have crashed to the earth, and our scientists are using the alien technology to build these military space ships.

So there you have it, a nifty image enhanced podcast with little green men, space ships, and brilliant UFOs. Kick back and enjoy all you sci-fi fans!

I couldn’t do a podcast from hell without also doing a heavenly podcast to balance it all. It’s funny, it was so much easier to find hellish songs than heavenly tunes, but I did it. After going through piles of home recorded music, I found a few songs with angels, gods, and other heavenly things we’ve all come to know and love.

First up is Mark Harvey and Rain Station doing, To Heaven, a sweet sweet song Mark wrote for his little baby girl when she was born. Awwwwwww. Then another band from Nobody Records: Beth Eyre and The Month of Sundays play their soft country rock tune: Angel On My Shoulder. Then Bay Area band Strip Karaoke sings us a sweet campfire song about the place where all good cowboys and cowgirls go after they die in, Dance With Clouds.

So there you have it, more amazing unsigned home recorded music all in an image enhanced podcast made specifically for iTunes listeners. During your little visit to Heaven, be sure to tell Saint Peter that Hoagie sent ya. Enjoy!

I’ve collected a bunch of home recorded tunes jam packed with demons, devils, and all things evil and hellish. Mitchell Vaillant improvises a hot and steamy twisted tale titled: El Diablo Fuego. Dan Hanrahan shares with us The Devil’s Advocate which is quickly followed by Tucker Fucker Katonah! and his advertisement for Fun House. Strip Karaoke appropriately ends the show waiting forever and ever at the Bus Stop To Hell.

People just love sex, well, because that’s where people come from after all. So what could be better than a bunch of sexy songs for you all to enjoy. The subject of sex has always been such a funny thing to me. Why are people so freaked out by sex? Sex is somehow treated like it’s criminal, or worse, it’s treated so boringly. I mean TV shows us a million ways to kill each other, but only a couple ways to love one another. What’s up with that?

This sexy podcast us full of sexy guys and gals singing a sexy song or two. It gets rather explicit at times, but that’s the fun of it.

The Amazing Love Spitoon from Portland Maine do an improvised song and dance called: Teenage Prostitute. Strip Karaoke shares two songs with our listeners today, first Big Dick, and lastly I Like Her Tits. These two very sexy songs sandwich Mitchell Vaillant’s tune: Harper’s Ferry. I’m sure Mitchell is glad to be sandwiched between May’s two Strip Karaoke tunes. Mmmmmmm.

If you listen to this podcast during your commute on the bus you may get a big boner, so listener beware and be sure you don’t embarass yourself. Enjoy.

Every time I punch in at work, I can actually feel my soul draining out of me into the time card, and into the veins of my employer giving him my vitality. I believe that the 40 hour work week is “slavery in disguise”… and it’s not disguised all that well either.

Many of the world’s problems come from over production. The pollution and waste that is created due to over production is obvious. There is way too much of way too much these days, and little of it really matters. Most things are not life or death, so therefore are not very important in the long run. Everyone’s home is full of crap they don’t need and yet cannot part with.

I’ve always felt that I was too nice to succeed in business. I’m just not evil enough to be business wise. I cannot naturally do things that hurt other people, and it really gets in my way. I also know that I would never be happy if I was not true to myself, so putting on a business mask in order to be successful, wouldn’t lead to any happiness in the long run either.

So this image enhanced podcast is for all the Working Class Heroes out there that keep the infrastructure from collapsing. A big ‘Thanks’ is in order. Without these hard working people, we wouldn’t have the convenience of electricity, running water, my precious internet connection, or food.

There are several theories on the origin of the secret code word 4:20. Some say that 4:20 is the birthday of Bob Marley, but I don’t know if that’s true. I do know that most of the time people refer to it as time. Like the question I hear from my co-workers each day, Hey – is it 4:20 yet?

Perhaps it’s work related after all, being so close to closing time. People just want to get over the hump of the day.

Then again, if you have a regular clock with two hands and a circle of numbers, well then one would notice that at precisely 4:20 the big hand lines up with the small hand over the 4. This is a very surreal moment when one cannot be sure what time it is. It’s as if someone has stolen the small hand right off your clock, and you just cannot tell what time it is. This can be especially terrifying if one is at work. What has happened to the clock? Good God someone has stolen the hands to our clock! We may never get out of here…

Today’s 4:20 podcast starts off with the title track from the Rain Station CD titled, Stonedozer. Dan Hanrahan contributes Jack Rabbit Dawn, Brent Clifford and the Unknown Rule perform, Drugs. Finally Bay Area Punk Rock band, Strip Karaoke do a chillin’ rendition of, Smoke Some Pot. And no matter when you play this podcast, remember that it’s always 4:20 somewhere in the world.

There is one zone where the commercial music industry does not go, and it’s the truly weird. I know they get close now and then, but I’m talking about maximum weird here people. Home recording is special because it’s usually being made just for fun, and usually by people that have very little experience. The enjoyment of recording sounds and playing them back can entertain pretty much anyone that can get their hands on the equipment to do so.

There is nothing weirder than home recordings, and I tell you , I know it’s not for everyone. However, I believe that I am a connoisseur of the weird, and I can tell good weird from bad weird. Some things are weird because they are trying to be weird, but the truly magical weird things are those that don’t know they’re being weird. After the experience, great weird things can make us think differently. The weird that changes our minds forever, and changes normal things into unknown territory is the weird I like most. So there.

We start off with my good friend mopehead, with a delightful ditty: To Town I Go, from the Weird Songs CD found only at 13thTrack.com – so check it out, there’s lots of weird music & Flash animation at this cool site.

Tucker Fucker Katonah! does an impromptu ad for Carvelle Ice-cream.

Honeysuckle does a tune I call Cosmic Cowboy. I am playing Honeysuckle because they are the weirdest band I’ve ever heard that I absolutely love. They freak me out and make me laugh. I hear so many complexities in the noise of this three person act. I cannot believe that anyone would do this, so it amazes me in so many ways, (not all good), but they still amaze me, none the less.

Rain Station likes to goof off when they are doing a sound check, and they make up lots of ridiculous riffs while getting ready to play. It’s actually the best part of the act. Check out, Fancy Pants, it’s funny.

For a while in the early 90’s I lived with a buddy of mine named Brent Clifford. Brent is rock and roll royalty because his dad is Doug Clifford, drummer for Credence Clearwater Revival, one of the greatest bands ever, and still going strong as Revisited. One weekend Brent borrowed my Tascam 4 track and recorded some of the most bizarre stuff I’d ever heard. We end our podcast with the lamenting tale of Poor Little Froggie.

I think it’s really cool when musicians take the traditional music they grew up with, and turn it into something unique for a new generation to enjoy. The freshness of traditional music combined with rock & hip hop influences creates a whole new mix for the whole world to groove to.

Today’s image enhanced podcast starts off with Alin Rogoz who likes to mix traditional Gypsy music with rock, ska, reggae, and hip hop. Alin records on Garageband, and his tunes are excellent. Me and Baby Hoagie hop around and dance every time we play this tune, titled: Gypsy Street.

A few years ago, I was lucky to get a copy of Abdullah Anayat’s CD, The Nomad Of Love. Abdullah is originally from Afghanistan, and combines traditional rhythms with western grooves. This CD can be found at: NobodyRecords.com – be sure to check it out.
