Mac Slone recorded a banjo track before winter set in at the Big Blue Church. Then he headed south to Louisiana. Jay wrote a song to it, added some percussions and vocals, and got Hazel to sing along, play bass, and piano to give it a little tinkly shine.

Girls with Books draws attention to the importance of educating girls and women in our world. Mothers are the first educators for all. Jay E Moores wrote the song and plays drums and electric guitar. Hazel de Mesa plays bass guitar, piano, and sings backing vocals. Beaver the Fifer adds her flute. We record in a gothic revival church built in 1893 on the coast of Maine. We intend to promote this song on social media channels and perform it live.
